Jacob Allen is a joint student with the Political Science Department since 2004. Following several years of fieldwork in microenterprise and economic development, his broad research interest is international political economy with a focus on international development efforts and non-governmental organizations. Kuniaki Nemoto
Kuniaki Nemoto is a joint degree student with the Political Science Department since 2003. He specializes in comparative political economy and party systems in East Asia. Particularly, he is interested in two research areas: (1) welfare state development and restructuring in Japan and Korea; and (2) the Japanese electoral reform and its consequential effects on the behavior of politicians, party organizations, and the policymaking process.

Mónica Pachón Buitrago
Mónica is a joint degree student with the Political Science Department since 2002. Her fields are comparative politics and American politics. Her research focuses on comparative legislatures, the effects of legislative rules in policy making in Latin America.

Kwanhang Sum

Stephen Weymouth
Stephen is a joint degree student with the Political Science Department since 2005. His broad academic interests include comparative political economy, international financial relations, development, and political methodology. Previous work focuses on currency imbalances in developing countries. His current research uses survey data to study the effects of government institutions on individual perceptions of government credibility. Stephen plans to complete comprehensive examinations in 2007.

Yu Zheng
Yu Zheng is a joint degree student with the Political Science Department. His primary research interest is international political economy, with a special focus on telecommunication deregulation and financial liberalization in East Asian countries.
