Donate Today

We are very grateful for the generosity of our alumni and we continue to ask for your support. The greatest need at IR/PS is to increase our fellowship so we can continue to increase the caliber of our students and the value of your degree. As UC San Diego enters into its Invent the Future Campaign, with a primary focus of increasing graduate fellowship, IR/PS is focusing on the following initiatives:

The IR/PS Alumni Summer Internship Fund

Many of our IR/PSers have taken part in the Summer Internship programs and know that the value of an internship is in exploring possibilities, developing contacts, and extending and obtaining new skills and insights. As our class size has increased dramatically, so has so has the need to subsidize our unpaid summer interns. We are looking to raise an additional $100,000 a year to support this vital program. Donate today and you will get to know the student, get an update on the summer experience during the summer and a final review of their experience.

The Stu Motter Fund

This fund honors IR/PS staff member Stu Motter and supports IR/PS students who show a special commitment to community service in the same spirit of hard work and goodwill that Stu evokes. Stu recently shared with us that communication from IR/PS keeps his spirits up and keeps him connected to one of the best parts of his life. Read more about The Stu Motter Fund and how you can donate.

The IR/PS Alumni Association Endowed Fellowship

In 2008, the $50,000 benchmark was reached and the first IR/PS endowed fellowship was created through the generous support of our many alumni. Establishing this endowed fellowship means that support today will benefit incoming IR/PS students for generations. You can make a difference in the future of IR/PS and its students.

Other priorities for our private support efforts are:

  • Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies
  • Center on Pacific Econmies
  • The creation of the vital 21st Century China program
  • Faculty research and support
