L. Lin Ong

MPIA '10

Lin Ong is currently a marketing PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Her main research interest is international marketing strategy, with an emphasis on emerging markets.

While working toward her MPIA, Lin worked for IR/PS professor Roger Bohn as the graduate student researcher for the How Much Information? Project, which was featured in publications such as Popular Science and The New York Times. She was also an active member of the student community, involved with a diverse number of organizations including Dean’s Fellows, Southeast Asia Link (SEAL), California Clean Innovation (CACI), and the La Jolla Symphony.

Lin is a magna cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University where she majored in economics and musical arts. Lin has lived and studied in Malaysia, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Before IR/PS, she worked as a strategy consultant assisting Fortune 500 companies on topics ranging from mergers and acquisitions to international strategic planning.
