Gary Bremermann

MPIA '91

Gary graduated in 1991 with a concentration in International Management and a Japan regional focus. He is currently a partner at Robert Leonard Consulting, a Tokyo-based executive search firm, and is focused on recruiting high-performance leaders in advertising, marketing, sales, and mobile technology. He is in his 10th year of headhunting in Tokyo, and enjoys helping companies build teams of talented professionals while helping individuals, including IR/PS alumni, find work they love.

Gary is also founder of the non-profit fundraising organization Beers for Books (B4B), which uses fun and simple social events to raise money for high quality local language books for kids in developing countries. B4B enthusiastically supports the in-country operations of Room to Read, a highly efficient and effective organization focused on childhood literacy and gender equality in education.

Gary is married and has an 11-year old daughter. He loves living in Tokyo, though he looks forward to returning to his hometown, San Diego.

Gary's work and contributions to society have been recognized with the IR/PS 2010 Outstanding Alumni Award.
