Jeff Lee
MPIA '93
Jeff Lee is vice president of business development, Asia, Indian Subcontinent, and Middle East, for Vanguard Logistics, where he has worked since graduating from IR/PS 15 years ago.
His career with taken him from LA to New York, Dubai, Hong Kong, Rotterdam, London, Chicago, back to LA, then back to Hong Kong, where he currently lives with his wife of 10 years and their 4 year old son.
When asked about his experience at IR/PS and lessons he has learned so far, Jeff replied, “I came out of school not really having a completely specific idea of what I wanted to do other than something that involved international trade, and I can remember being frustrated early on as I was beginning my career. I wanted to move faster than I was, initially. I had the feeling that I was ready to take on big challenges, and I was, to an extent. At the same time there is a whole other learning process that must take place within the organization that you join, and you have to let that happen. In short; Think big, take small steps in quick succession, be patient, and enjoy the process. Now that I think about it, that's what I am doing today and will hopefully continue to do.”
