Patrick Hess
MPIA '08
Patrick Hess is a supply allocator for Latin America at Apple, Inc., and is based in Austin, Texas. Prior to joining Apple, Patrick went to the Mexico City office of Tradex International Finance, where he worked as the manager of export finance. There, he oversaw day-to-day operations, did credit analysis, and portfolio management.
During his time at IR/PS, Patrick worked part-time with the InterAmerican Group as a financial analyst in the their acquisition group. That group went on to make a $50 million acquisition of a Chinese infrastructure development firm.
He also interned with the United States Commercial Service in Mexico City, where he was devoted primarily to publishing market research reports.
Prior to attending IR/PS, Patrick earned a BS in finance and international business from the University of Arizona. After earning his bachelor's degree, he worked for the Rice Hall James & Associates asset management firm in San Diego in their Operations Department.
Patrick says IR/PS helped most in developing a much fuller understanding of international trade and global finance and in assessing risk in the developing world.
