The IR/PS Net Impact chapter co-hosted a speaker panel with the Rady School of Management that included professionals working in clean-tech investing, management consulting, sustainability-focused social blogging/networking websites, enterprise resource planning software and carbon micro-credit monetization programs in Africa.
2nd Annual Sustainability Ideas Contest - 5/5 - 6/9/09
Net Impact organized a sustainability ideas contest by asking students and staff to cotableme up with the best answer to: What is something small that IR/PS can do to increase its sustainability in a BIG way? We received over 40 submissions for the contest and narrowed these down to 10 top selections and these were then voted on by students. Jessica Graham and Arpita Verghese won the contest with their submission of installing motion sensor lights in rooms" The winners generously donated their $50 prize to the Stu Motter Family fund.
San Diego Microfinance Summit - 5/7/09
Net Impact members attended the local summit which provided participants a chance to learn about local and international microfinance organizations, hear stories from clients, network with microfinance practitioners in San Diego, learn how to volunteer, work with and/or donate to microfinance activities, support local entrepreneurs by buying products/services at a client marketplace and dine on a buffet lunch prepared by local microfinance clients.
California Clean Innovation Conference 2009 - 5/1/09
Net Impact members helped organize the California Clean Innovation conference at UCSD, which provided an opportunity for attendees to expand their knowledge of clean technology and network with industry leaders. During the full day event, CACI provided a forum to share new business ideas and discuss the future of green technology. This year the conference focused on energy, transportation and water technologies and examined how each will impact our future.

2nd Annual Net Impact Jeopardy event - 4/1/09
Social networking event with a sustainable-themed Jeopardy game co-hosted with 2 other San Diego Net Impact student chapters (USD MBA, SDSU MBA) and the San Diego Net Impact professional chapter. Event was attended by over 90 students and local professionals.

Net Impact Conference - 2008 & 2009
Over 20 IR/PS students attended the 2008 Net Impact North American Conference at the Wharton School in Philadelphia and 16 IR/PS students attended the 2009 Conference at Cornell. We hope to have a similar group attending the 18th Annual Net Impact Conference, 2020: Vision for a Sustainable Decade, hosted by the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan from October 28-30, 2010.

Sustainability Rally - 10/1/08
Student Rally to promote sustainability on campus with personal pledge sign up sheets to encourage students to reduce their carbon footprint. For pledging, students received free re-usable coffee mugs made from recycled material with Net Impact UC San Diego chapter branding.
$20,000 ESI (now SSI) Grant Awarded to Net Impact, January 2008-Present
The 2007/2008 Green-Sustainability task force submitted a proposal and was awarded a $20,000 seed grant from UC San Diego's Sustainability Solutions Institute to implement a Sustainability Walk highlighting UC San Diego sustainability achievements on campus.
