Task Forces
Below is a list of the current task forces at the UC San Diego Net Impact chapter. We welcome additional task force ideas for the upcoming year. One great thing about this "task force" model is that it allows our organization to adjust to new trends, interests, and projects. Upon joining us at IR/PS, feel free to propose your own ideas for a task force.
Campus Initiatives - This task force is interested in planning events to raise campus awareness about sustainability and also to exert pressure on the UC San Diego administration, which seems amenable to graduate student concerns about greening the campus, on specific infrastructure or education issues as they arise.Corporate Social Responsibility - This group is interested in planning speaker events focusing on CSR in governments, socially responsible investing (SRI), CSR in business, and career recruiting.
International Development - The Development Taskforce hopes to plan two networking events per quarter, focusing on the interests and career goals of each taskforce member.
Microfinance - This group is planning to seek and engage with microfinance groups in San Diego to actively work to match microfinance related needs with resources. One such match would be between potential candidates who are willing to share relevant training and consulting skills with investors who might want to invest in microfinance loans.
Social Entrepreneurship - The group is interested in broadening the concept of "social entrepreneurship" in order to explore multiple perspectives of group members. It is hoped that the group can be an open forum where members can network and gain a deeper understanding about ways private companies can pursue profit while remaining socially responsible.
Renewable Energy - This group is exploring renewable energy development in the Pacific Rim. Personalized networking and career opportunities are a focus of this group.
