Brian Camblin

Operations Director

Brian Camblin, a native San Diegan, is a master’s candidate at IR/PS focusing on international development and public policy with a regional specialization in Latin America.  Prior to IR/PS, Brian earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from San Diego State University. Shortly after graduating, he embarked on a two-year service venture as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras from 2004-2006.  After returning to San Diego, he earned a California Teaching Credential and returned to Latin America to work in education, first as a Fulbright recipient in Brazil and then as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer in Colombia.  Brian recently interned with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) in Brasilia, where he wrote a series of project proposals to fund efforts for the elimination of gender violence and improve the participation of women in international peacekeeping missions.

 

Nishana Kuruppu

Finance Director

Nishana Kuruppu is master’s candidate at IR/PS, focusing on international economics with a regional specialization in Southeast Asia. Prior to IR/PS, she worked as a senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, providing financial and program management support to the U.S. Navy. She also worked as a financial analyst at Pixar Animation Studios, overseeing the budget, conducting research, and providing analysis for feature films.

Shortly after graduating from UC Santa Barbara with degrees in business economics and film and media studies, Nishana worked as a research analyst at The World Bank in Sri Lanka. She supported capacity development initiatives by conducting research for “Building the Sri Lankan Knowledge Economy,” a publication that focuses on improving and leveraging Sri Lanka’s knowledge capital to stimulate industry growth.   

 

Anne-Reed Angino

Marketing Director

Anne-Reed Angino is a master’s candidate at IR/PS focusing on international politics and policy with a regional specialization in China. Prior to IR/PS, Anne-Reed worked as a research assistant and program coordinator for Friends of African Village Libraries. She also spent a year as a resident advisor for IES Beijing, during which time she held an internship at the United States Department of Energy’s Beijing office. 

Anne-Reed spent her summer internship at the U.S. State Department’s Taiwan Coordination desk in Washington D.C. Over the summer, she provided the Secretary of State and other senior U.S. government officials key information for their unofficial yet multifaceted engagements with Taiwan representatives. She has also spent time doing research and studying in China, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone.  Anne-Reed graduated from Santa Clara University with a BS in economics and a minor in international business.
