Michael Jarand

Michael Jarand received his bachelor's from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where he studied International Politics and Russian Studies. During that time he worked at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy and did an internship with the Department of State at the U.S. Consulate General in Vladivostok, Russia. Coming to IR/PS has been a valuable experience to gain not only broader regional knowledge but also quantitative skills.

Last summer Michael interned in the Office of Europe and Eurasia in the International Affairs department of the U.S. Treasury, where he worked primarily on Euro crisis issues. He is a contributing editor to the Journal of International Policy Solutions and works for I-House as a Model United Nations Fellow. Michael is focusing on International Economics and is interested in economic transitions and financial crises.
