David Fusco joined the IR/PS community with a combination of private sector and education experience. After graduating from Lehigh University with a BA in Asian studies, he taught English through the JET program at a high school in Miyagi prefecture, Japan. After JET, David began working at American International Group (AIG) as an analyst in their Tokyo office. Later transferring to the company's headquarters in New York City, he worked on projects such as growth strategy in emerging markets, global standardization of business practices, and insurance fraud prevention.

For his summer internship, David worked in the computation directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a national lab located in the San Francisco bay area managed by the Department of Energy. As part of the lab’s cyber defender program, David spent his summer researching how risk management methods can be applied to cyber security and subsequently developing an alternative method to manage cyber security at large institutions.

At IR/PS, David is a director in the student-run consulting club, Export Access, and is the treasurer for IR/PS’s Japanese club, Asameshikai. David was drawn to IR/PS because of the analytical toolkit students develop through the rigorous quantitative, public policy, and management courses offered, coupled with advanced language training and world-class faculty. Upon graduation, David intends to pursue a global career that straddles the public and private sector.
