Prior to joining IR/PS, Dan earned her BA degree from Jinan University in Guangzhou, where she was awarded the National Scholarship of People’s Republic of China in recognition of her outstanding academic performance. She joined AIESEC and later interned in Ukraine and worked with people from eight different countries in the summer of 2010.
Since February 2011, Dan has been a market research intern in BIOCOM, a life science association representing more than 550 member companies in Southern California, and has worked with multiple clients on investing and business strategies in the Chinese market. Before that, she worked in Fleishman-Hillard International Communications in Guangzhou, China.
At IR/PS, Dan Pei is the Director of Export Access Global Consulting (EAGC), a graduate student-run market research consulting group. Recently, EAGC completed a report for San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce analyzing how San Diego is recovering from the Financial Crisis using economic indicator data.
Dan spent her summer interning at Department of Public Information at United Nations Headquarters in New York, where she used extensive data from UN’s database to evaluate and analyze the effect of UN’s programs all over the world. She was also responsible for conducting research about China and writing reports to provide strategy recommendations for communication strategies targeting Chinese audience. During this three month internship, she was also involved in designing a project as well as a website to raise people’s awareness of water pollution and protecting marine lives.
