Prior to IR/PS, Anne-Reed worked as a research assistant and program coordinator for Friends of African Village Libraries. She also spent a year as a Resident Advisor for IES Beijing, during which time she held an internship at the United States Department of Energy in Beijing. The internship included working closely with the U.S.-China Energy Cooperation Program, which helped diversify her understanding of public-private bilateral agreements. She is currently studying international politics and policy at IR/PS, and is eager to develop a global context in which to apply her analytical skills to influence U.S. foreign policy and improve government efficiency.

Anne-Reed spent her summer internship at the U.S. State Department’s Taiwan Coordination desk in Washington D.C. Over the summer, she provided the Secretary of State and other senior U.S. government officials key information for their unofficial yet multifaceted engagements with Taiwan representatives. She also staffed the Director-designate of the American Institute of Taiwan in Taipei by providing press guidance, facilitating consultations and drafting a script for the Director’s new welcome video.

Anne-Reed serves as the marketing director for Strategic Community Consulting, a student-run consulting firm that provides nonprofit, non-governmental and development organizations with quantitative research and analysis. She is also a student consultant for the International Rescue Committee in San Diego in partnership with the Development Club.
