Our Campus
UC San Diego’s rich academic portfolio includes undergraduate colleges, academic divisions, and graduate and professional schools. IR/PS is located in the northwest portion of campus overlooking the Pacific Ocean near the beautiful Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. The site was originally chosen in the late 1980s to create a School where students could attend all of their classes without leaving the complex, and to have direct access to faculty and a library focused on international relations and pacific studies. This concept holds true today.
In recent years, as UC San Diego has expanded to better serve the needs of the campus community, other buildings were constructed in the neighborhood of IR/PS, including facilities for Eleanor Roosevelt College, the Social Sciences Building, Rady School of Management, the San Diego Supercomputer Center, the RIMAC sports complex, and several parking structures.
