Biography

Madeleine Bernhardt is an adjunct professor at the Berlin School of Economics and Law in Germany where she teaches the psychology of effective communication. On a regular basis, Madeleine consults to international law firms in high stakes cases. She developed her consulting experience in the field of social and organizational psychology working as a consultant for Capgemini (Berlin), a leading international consulting firm and for a boutique consulting firm based in Hamburg.

Prior to joining the Berlin School of Economics and Law, Madeleine was Managing Director of the Center for Transnational Law at the University of Cologne, Germany. The Center is devoted to research, teaching and study of private dispute resolution in international business, including mediation and arbitration. Since January 2012, Madeleine is the Managing Director of the Berlin Center for Professional Higher Education, a joint institution of the 13 public universities in Berlin which contributes to the professional development of senior experts and leaders of these 13 organizations via organizational development alongside individual and team coaching services.

Madeleine holds a PhD in law and an MA in psychology. Additionally, she is a trained business coach (European Coaching Association). Her strong interdisciplinary focus and her capability to constantly take into consideration different perspectives allow her to support her clients in basing their decisions on profound knowledge of the functioning of interpersonal relations.
