Biography

Though Professor Reisner retired from the University of Illinois, College of Law after serving as Professor of Law from 1964 to 1993, he is still very active in the field.  He taught at the Northwestern University, School of Law from 1994 until 2000.  He has spent the past several years in San Diego and has maintained an affiliation with IR/PS in the capacities of Visiting Professor and/or Visiting Scholar.  

He has many years of experience teaching courses on the regulation of the financial industry, international financial law, and international business transactions.  He has previously served as a consultant to the World Bank, as Director of the Central/East European Bank Legal Training Program, and as a consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank. His publication record includes a variety of books on foreign bank regulation, legal aspects of debt management, and international business transactions.
