Speaker: Gabriella R. Montinola, Associate Professor of Political Science, University of California, Davis

Gabriella R. Montinola is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Davis. She received her Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University. Her research focuses on governance in developing countries, and she has written articles on corruption and the rule of law across developing countries, particularly in the Philippines. 

More recently, she has been examining the impact of foreign aid on governance in developing countries. Her work on foreign aid has been published in Comparative Political Studies, the Journal of Politics, and Studies for Comparative International Development

In this public lunch talk, Professor Montinola will discuss her recent work on the impact of foreign aid, the aid effectiveness literature in general, and directions for future research.
