March 25 (Bloomberg) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong Il is suffering from chronic kidney failure and receiving dialysis treatment every two weeks, the head of a state-run research center said.
Kim also has diabetes and high-blood pressure, Nam Sung Wook, head of the Seoul-based Institute for National Security, said at a seminar yesterday, according to the organizer. Given his age, 68, it may be difficult for Kim to fully recover, Nam was quoted as saying on the Web site of the Headquarters of National Unification Movement of Young Korean Academy.
