Hoshi provides commentary on so-called "Zombie Banks"

IR/PS acting Dean Takeo Hoshi appeared on the ABC Radio National show, Background Briefing, on Sunday, April 12, 2009. The topic of the day was zombie banks, or banks with non-performing loans and assets. Hoshi draws comparisons between the economic situations of Japan in the 1990s and the current situation in the U.S. Takeo says "what happened in Japan, which is very much like what's been happening in the U.S., was that Japanese government tried many things like buying up toxic assets, or tried to recapitalise the banks." Hoshi offers commentary on solutions and consequences of future economic action.
