IR/PS Students Lead Discussions at Project Concern International "South & Southeast Asia Forum"
03/30/2009
Mira Mendoza,

In November 2008, representatives from 29 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) - many of them based in San Diego - participated in Project Concern International's "South and Southeast Asia Forum." Sponsored by Qualcomm Wireless Reach and organized by the Gem Foundation, the meeting was co-hosted at the UC San Diego Faculty Club by IR/PS.
The day-long workshop brought together donors and NGO officials, most of whom participated actively in the discussions on "big questions" ranging from balancing economic development and the environment to the ways NGOs can mobilize communities to be agents of change.
The following IR/PS students were invited to present summaries of the discussions:
Jeevika Chhatwal
Shannon Pallone
Barrett Bryson
Mira Mendoza
Amrita Lahiri
Areeluck Parnsoonthorn
Bret Saalwaechter
Summer Starr
Visit the Forum's video archive and click on "Part I: Big Questions" to view their presentations.
