IR/PS Dean Peter Cowhey Appointed to Barack Obama's Transition Team

Peter Cowhey, UC San Diego Associate Vice Chancellor of International Affairs and Dean of IR/PS, has been appointed by President-elect Obama to serve as co-lead of his transition team's United States Trade Representative Review Team.
Dean Cowhey is an expert on U.S. foreign policy and technology policy. He has published extensively on comparative foreign policy and international issues involving Asia and the United States. He has also done extensive work on international trade, technology, and investment policy. His upcoming book, due in January, 2009 from The MIT Press, examines the transformation of global information and communications markets.
Dean Cowhey's role on the transition team will be to help evaluate policies and personnel for the organization for establishment of U.S. trade policy.
