ASIA, The Journal of Culture & Commerce is an award-winning, locally headquartered English language newspaper that serves the Asian Pacific Islander Community in San Diego and Los Angeles. Kevin Fipps, special reporter for ASIA, recently spoke with IR/PS Dean Peter Cowhey about the School and its focus on the Pacific Rim.
"It may be a long distance from San Diego to places like China, Korea, Vietnam and Japan, but that is not reason for this fair city to be any less interested in the affairs of those far-flung regions. It is this line of thinking that has caused the International Relations/Pacific Studies department at the University of California, San Diego to focus primarily on the Pacific Rim."
