The World Bank presidency of Paul Wolfowitz has reached its painful, slow-motion end. To obtain his resignation, his European critics have apparently offered the Bush administration freedom to appoint Wolfowitz's successor at the World Bank. Such a bargain is a setback for World Bank reform. Before a new World Bank president is named, the current antiquated selection process should be changed. More...
