IR/PS Students

04/13/2007
David Robertson, IR/PS Career Services,

While many students were soaking up the sun in places like Cabo San Lucas during their spring break, 12 IR/PS graduate students participated in the first annual Alumni & Employer Outreach Trip to Washington, D.C., March 28-30, 2007. The purpose of the trip was to develop long term relationships with targeted employers, gathering information and identifying possible job and internship opportunities. We were delighted because the cherry blossom trees were in full bloom!

The students began organizing the trip in January, calling key alumni and scheduling informational interviews. IR/PS alumni played an essential role in the success of the trip by arranging meetings and panel presentations and providing home-stay accommodations.

One of the highlights of the trip was an alumni reception and panel held on Thursday evening, March 29 at the University of California Washington Center. The International Trade panel was moderated by IR/PS alum Kati Suominen. Joining the IR/PS students and over 25 alumni was Professor Richard Feinberg, chair of the Global Leadership Institute (GLI) and eight GLI fellows.

Special thanks to the following IR/PS alumni and friends for their support:
