Export Access study on military spending released

02/08/2007

A report prepared by IR/PS consulting group Export Access found that defense spending in San Diego County increased 49.3 percent in the three years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, pumping almost $11.7 billion into the local economy in 2004. Export Access was hired by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce to conduct an independent and authoritative study for use as a benchmark by local, state and federal decision makers in discussions concerning the redevelopment of the Navy Broadway complex and other programs.
