Boycott Closes Local Businesses

NORTH COUNTY ---- It was far from business as usual Monday as thousands stayed off the job and some businesses that employ large numbers of immigrants either were closed or short-staffed as a nationwide immigrant boycott played out locally.
However, most businesses and larger retailers continued to operate throughout the day.
