Barry Naughton, author of "The Chinese Economy: Transitions and Growth" and a China specialist at the University of California San Diego, talks about the People's Bank of China monetary policy and the yuan. China unexpectedly raised its benchmark lending and deposit rates for the first time since 2007 ahead of data that may show inflation accelerated to the fastest pace in almost two years. The move comes days before Group of 20 officials gather in South Korea to discuss the global economy amid disagreements on whether the yuan is undervalued. Naughton speaks with Rishaad Salamat on Bloomberg Television's "First Up."
