Palomar College students catch political economy lectures

Palomar College students got a taste of real-world issues at a series of political economy lectures the college held this week.
On Wednesday and Thursday, 20 professors from colleges and universities throughout the county weighed in with talks on topics ranging from emerging economies in Asia to protests in the Arab world and reforming California's government.
The aim, said political science professor Peter Bowden, who coordinated the event, is to provide students with exposure to "topics and material that is typically beyond lower division curriculum."
