Takeo Hoshi, "Japan is in a worse fiscal situation that the U.S."

On Tuesday, Yoshihiko Noda took over as Prime Minister of Japan, the sixth in five years. As representative of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), has sought closer ties with rival factions internal and opposed by the powerful Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), which dominates the upper house. Takeo Hoshi, an economist at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IRPS) of the U. California, San Diego (UCSD), believes that Noda was the best candidate who had the DPJ to take the country forward and reduce its high deficit, equivalent to 10% of GDP.
