As UC San Diego enters its 51st year – a new era of innovation – collaboration among the campus senior academic leaders have created bold strategic plans to identify new interdisciplinary initiatives in shaping the campus's future in education and research.

Peter Cowhey, Dean of IR/PS, spoke at the Founder's Symposium on November 17th, 2011. His lecture focused on the proposal to establish the Impact Design and Evaluation Laboratories (IDEL) to integrate economics, political science, and other social science disciplines around the methodology if impact evaluation and design to provide novel analyses of important policy issues and solutions to global issues.
