Labor finally sees light on Indian uranium sales

Over the weekend at its annual conference, the Labor Party agreed to remove the requirement that uranium exports be restricted to signatory states of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, meaning uranium sales to India will now be an option.
Opponents have argued that Labor is making a serious mistake as it will undermine the NPT and add fuel to the nuclear arms race in South Asia. The reality is that these fears are overstated.
