IR/PS Students Selected for Federal Government Fellowships

05/17/2012

David L. Boren Fellowships were established in 1994 to provide financial support to U.S. students who wish to pursue language study in countries critical to the security and stability of our nation, and translate that into government employment following graduation.

This year, from a pool of 575 applicants, 119 Fellowships were awarded. Three of the 119 Fellowships went to UC San Diego students; two of the students were from IR/PS.

Congratulations to Boren Fellows Geoffrey Fattig, MPIA '13, and Jacob Henderson, MPIA '13.

The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) program attracts advanced degree candidates to Federal service, offering two-year paid appointments, 160 hours of professional development training, and at least one 4-6 month rotational assignment. All PMF participants have a clear commitment to excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.

This year's IR/PS Presidential Management Fellows:

  • Catherine Daly, MPIA '12
  • Ryan Pope, MPIA '12
  • Duc Tran BA/MIA, '12
  • Matthew McClennahan, MAS-IA '12
  • Lane Ogawa, MPIA '12
  • Deborah Bartell, MPIA '12
IR/PS applauds these outstanding students.
