In the last three decades, the economies of developing countries have seen a rapid acceleration. Their share of the global economy has increased from 36 per cent to an estimated 51 per cent by 2014. As the developing countries of the Global South continue to outpace the West, business structures are being revolutionised. However, sceptics believe the growth is unsustainable, especially in emerging countries plagued by political instability, health epidemics and corruption. So, will economic progress continue and what impact will it have on the global political landscape?
