9 月 11 日,日本最大在野党自民党 干事长石原伸晃召开记者会,正式宣布 参选党魁。这一消息为其父东京都知事 石原慎太郎闹了小半年的“购买”钓鱼 岛事件做了个有说服力的注脚。
在自民党的五位候选人中 :安倍晋 三曾经担任过首相 ;石破茂是福田康夫 政府的防卫大臣 ;町村信孝是前外相 ; 林芳正擅长外交,年轻时曾为美国议员 工作并参与立法,熟识美国政治 ;只有 石原伸晃从未从事过与外交相关的工作。 但在这一波钓鱼岛事件的舆论大潮中, 他俨然成为自民党最具发言权的人:4 月, 是他代表自民党和父亲石原慎太郎会谈, 表示支持东京都“购岛”;9 月 13 日,在 参加一档电视节目时,他又针对野田佳 彦将钓鱼岛“国有化”问题展开了批判。 石原伸晃表示,钓鱼岛是一个很敏感的 问题,如果野田首相事先向中国政府解 释清楚为什么要“国有化”,认真说明原 因,事情也许不会像现在这样糟糕,这 才是外交。
