中共十八大召开前夕,美国加州大学圣地亚哥分校“二十一世纪中国研究项目”召开了一场美国中美关系专家学者主持的中共十八大研讨会。
对国内外一些中国问题专家将中共领导层划分为所谓“团派”、“太子党”或“上海帮”的说法,在研讨会上做主题发言的专家表示这一划分“不可取”。
加州大学圣地亚哥分校政治学教授、21世纪中国研究中心学术主任谢淑丽(Susan Shirk)和美国克莱蒙·麦肯纳学院政治学教授裴敏欣认为,将中共的内部分为“太子党”和“团派”两大派别的分划法过于简单化,并不能足以此说明中共内部错综复杂和不断变化的矛盾和斗争。
