Those are the key gains San Diegans can make from fostering a relationship with the Japanese.
The opportunity to do so will be stronger than ever, thanks to daily nonstop service from San Diego to Tokyo beginning in March on Japan Airlines.
Those were key points made by U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Roos during a brief visit Wednesday at the University of California at San Diego. Roos is on a four-city tour, including Denver, Seattle and the Bay Area. Roos, appointed by President Obama in 2009, is promoting the relationship between the two countries, both here and in Japan.
