About GLI
Welcome to the Global Leadership Institute
GLI is a graduate-level executive education program for public and private sector professionals and a study abroad destination for graduate researchers and students.
You will study among scholars in a world-class university ranked among the nation's top institutions for international affairs. The University of California, San Diego is one of the most accomplished research universities in the U.S., widely acknowledged for its local impact, national influence, and global reach. Ideally located in the Pacific region, UC San Diego is renowned for its collaborative, diverse, and cross-disciplinary approach that transcends traditional boundaries in science, arts, and the humanities.
Advancing UC San Diego’s international programs is the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS). Students enrolled in degree and non-degree programs experience a unique blend of three professional school traditions necessary for understanding leadership in the Pacific Century: international relations, public policy, and management. With a world-class faculty and an interdisciplinary curriculum, IR/PS has distinguished itself as an institution with innovative research and instructional programs in international management, international economics, comparative policy and politics, international environmental policy, development economics, nonprofit management, and regional studies.
GLI is uniquely positioned to provide sponsoring organizations and participants access to more than 80 academic departments and programs across UC San Diego. Additionally, GLI organizes professional tours (field trips) to prominent international industries and influential government agencies that give exclusive insight to their operations and business practices.
GLI Fellows learn from university professors, internationally renowned in their fields, many of whom have served as leaders in industry and government.
We also provide English courses specifically designed to enhance professionals’ ability to communicate in a global society.
