GLI Certificate Program

GLI’s long-term certificate program offers coursework for professional development within the discipline of international affairs including politics, public policy, management, and economics. The duration of study may range from one quarter (eleven weeks) up to two years and follows the IR/PS academic calendar. Click here to view the options you have to complete the program.

GLI offers specialized courses particularly for Fellows which have included English for Professionals, Business Communications and Oral Presentation Skills and U.S. Government & Policy. For international professionals, supplemental English courses as well as special content-based courses designed for non-native English speakers. GLI also offers local, state and national professional tours to build upon the academic education received at GLI.

Graduate Research

GLI serves as a study abroad destination for researchers and students in qualified graduate programs. GLI provides access to libraries and research resources across the UC system. In addition to meetings with professors who have advanced knowledge in your area of research, you have the opportunity to experience courses and seminars taught by our internationally renowned experts. You may also participate in GLI professional tours and presentations open to the IR/PS and UC San Diego communities.

The Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund Program (Sylff)

Sylff Research Abroad supports current Sylff fellows in conducting academic research related to their degree dissertation at Sylff institutions overseas as non-degree students. Sylff fellows engage in independent research on topics that relate to their graduate studies, under the supervision of a faculty member and academic advisor.
