Completion of the Long-term Certificate Program

International Participants

The GLI Long-term Certificate Program is a full-time program of study for international participants. The minimum duration of study is one quarter (eleven weeks) and follows the UC San Diego academic calendar.

Depending on your academic needs and your sponsor's requirements (as applicable), GLI offers three options to complete the
Long-term Certificate Program. Additional fees are assessed to standard tuition rates for Official Credit.

Professional Development

Full-Time Unofficial Credit
(12 units per quarter)

Intensive Study

Full-Time Unofficial Credit
(18 hours per week for
the duration of the quarter)

Transfer Credits

Full-Time Official Credit
(12 units per quarter)

For those seeking a flexible study regimen to improve their English and knowledge of international affairs that allows for personal and professional development outside the classroom.

For those seeking a rigorous study regimen to improve their English and knowledge of international affairs or other academic disciplines.

For those wanting to transfer academic credit towards a degree program¹ or to earn continuing education credits as required by their professions.

to accept transfer credits.
Confirm with your academic institution

Domestic Participants

The GLI Long-term Certificate Program also offers local professionals the opportunity to enroll in courses at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies. A GLI Program Coordinator will work with you to develop a program of study that meets your academic needs for professional development. Domestic partipants may enroll in one or more courses per quarter. Additional fees are assessed to standard tuition rates for Official Credit.
