Why MAS-IA?
Education for Professional Advancement
The Master of Advanced Studies in International Affairs (MAS-IA) is an executive degree program at IR/PS. It is offered as a nine-month, full-time course of study, and as a part-time, eighteen-month program, available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents with a flexible work schedule. Applicants must also have a minimum of five years of professional experience and relevant international experience, including proficiency in a second language.
The curriculum is designed for professionals seeking specialized and advanced education in the field of international affairs. In addition to three core courses, students select an academic career track and two regional electives from a menu that focuses on the economics and politics of IR/PS's five regional specializations: China, Korea, Japan, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
