MAS-IA Course Prerequisites
Students who have been admitted as candidates for the MAS-IA degree are advised to review the following list of courses to determine whether their academic and professional backgrounds have sufficiently prepared them to enroll in a particular course.
Some courses in the International Political Economy (IPE) and International Public Policy (IPP) career tracks require prior exposure to university-level quantitative or economics coursework or professional experience in these subjects. Courses in the International Relations (IR) career track and many of the regional electives do not require students to have completed any specific academic prerequisites, but students selecting this track should have a demonstrated interest in international affairs.

Prep Courses
For students who do not have an academic or professional background relevant to a particular course, enrollment in the appropriate prep component is recommended and may be required. Additionally, prerequisites may exist for enrollment in a specific course. Prep components include Analytical Writing, Math Camp (required for students registered in the Quantitative Methods and Economics components), Quantitative Methods (QM), Economics, and Microsoft Excel.
