The Home Screen

Site Manager Button

Locating Website Pages to Edit.

Clicking the Site Manager button changes the small window above the button to an overview of the website. The website is represented by folders, called sections, which may contain more sections and/or individual pages. Much like your Windows Explorer or Mac Finder, clicking on a section folder will toggle it open to reveal the contents. Click on the minus sign to the left of a section folder to close.

Clicking on a section in the small Site view will cause the content of the list area at the right side of the window to change to a list of the content in the section. The Site view is a quick way to navigate through the levels of the site to locate a particular web page. Use the list area to the right to access the page(s) to be edited.

To begin editing pages, jump to Editing Pages.

NOTE: You will only be able to edit pages your account has been given permissions to edit. Email irps-web@ucsd.edu with site access questions.

Modules are easy-to-use interfaces that help you create certain types of pages on the website. Information is entered into a module page using forms. The system puts the information collected from a module into a pre-formatted page. Examples include a calendar event or news story.

Assets Button

Uploading Files to be Used in Your Web Pages.

PDF files (faculty papers, event flyers) and JPG images (bio pictures, photo galleries) are all called Assets, and can be inserted into or linked to from web pages. The files must be uploaded to the website to make them available for use on your web page. The Assets button is one way to upload files.
