Documents can be uploaded to the website for public access.

Convert my document to PDF format

Before uploading your files, convert them to a PDF format. If necessary, files may be uploaded in their original format.

Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) Documents

1. Open your document or presentation.

2. Click File, then click Save As...

3. In the "Format:" drop down menu, select PDF as the file type.

4. Click Save.

Upload my document to the web

1. Click the Assets tab on the left.

2. Use the search fields to find a previously uploaded version of your document. Are you updating a CV? Uploading a new revision of a faculty paper? Fixing a typo on a flyer? Enter a name or title associated with the file to find that the asset you are uploading already exists. You can update this asset by searching the list using the fields above and double-clicking the item in the assets view.

- In the module window that opens, click the Browse button to the right of the File field, and find the file in your computer's directory.

- Click the Save button to upload the new file associated with the asset item. This will preserve all download links to the document throughout the web site.

- If you find that the asset you are uploading does NOT exist, proceed to step 3 below.

3. Click the New button and from the drop down menu, click PDF.

- Note: If you have not converted your document to a PDF, please see the instructions above. However, if it is necessary to upload your document in a different format, you must select that file type instead.

4. Fill in the fields of the module box that opens as follows:

a. File. Click the Browse button on the right and locate your PDF file. Once selected, click Open.

b. Title. Enter a title according to this structure:

Identity_Name_Title_Description_Year

- Identity: Choose one entity from the following list:

Faculty
Staff
Student
Alumni
Event

- Name: Identify who the file comes from (author, presenter) or a group associated with the file (student groups, organizations).

- Title: This can be the title of a paper (faculty paper), title of an event (flyer), the title of a conference (presentation), etc.

- Description: A brief description providing additional details useful to someone who might search for this file (CV, Book Chapter, Presentation).

- Year: Can be month and year, or just year in four digits (2010).

c. Description. This field can be used to enter notes and details about the file. For instance, if uploading a faculty member's latest CV, update the last updated date here.

4. Disregard the remaining fields.

5. Now click the Save button in the top left corner. Your document will be uploaded and can be linked to (and downloaded) from IR/PS web pages.
